Website Design Portfolio

Hi, My Name is Ben

My journey in WordPress web design began with crafting a website for my local church and expanding to serve other congregations. It was during this time that I laid the foundation for my expertise, delving into the intricacies of WordPress web development and design. Playing a pivotal role in constructing a robust online platform for RU Recovery Ministries propelled me to the next level. This monumental project encompassed an expansive e-commerce store with 1000+ products, complemented by a suite of bespoke features, including user logins, dashboards, and a localized chapter search database. When I joined Butler Branding, a design agency based in Fresno, California, I refined my craft and mastered the art of seamlessly transitioning from design concepts to fully functional websites. Today, my passion for web design continues as I build dynamic and impactful websites for churches, organizations, and businesses alike, driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation.

Web Design Skills

Here is a list of my proficiency with web design and tools. To learn more about how I define these terms click here.

Dropbox, Slack, Asana, and Discord are just some of the productivity tools I am familiar with. I also own developer licenses for ElementorPro and Croccoblocks. I also have a license for the Adobe Creative Suite.

My Website Design Process

By meticulously following these steps, I ensure that your website not only embodies your brand identity but also delivers an exceptional user experience, driving engagement and conversions.

Step 1: Design Brief

During this initial phase, I delve into understanding your vision and objectives for the website. I prioritize comprehending your specific needs and goals, ensuring that every aspect of the design aligns with your vision.

Step 2: Brand Guidelines

In this stage, I establish the visual identity of the website to resonate with your brand. If you already possess brand guidelines, I integrate them seamlessly into the website design. Alternatively, if you don’t have established guidelines, I collaborate with you to develop a style guide that encapsulates your brand essence using Adobe Illustrator.

Step 3: Wireframes

Wireframing is pivotal in outlining the structure and layout of the website. Using Figma, I meticulously plan the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) elements, ensuring an intuitive and seamless navigation experience for your audience. During this step, I may also create some graphical assets such as icons, or images using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Step 4: WordPress Development

With a meticulous approach, I initiate WordPress development by installing a blank theme, devoid of pre-existing styles or functionalities. Leveraging the power of ElementorPro, I meticulously craft the global styles and theme components, meticulously translating wireframes and brand styles into a visually stunning website.

Step 5: Customization and Optimization

In this phase, I customize the website further by incorporating any necessary custom post types and dynamic content using Crocoblocks and Jet Engine. Additionally, I optimize the website’s performance by configuring forms, notifications, and essential plugins to ensure security and speed.

Crafting Website Style Guides

Crafting website style guides ensures brand consistency and a seamless user experience. These guides outline typography, colors, imagery, and other design elements, empowering clients to maintain a cohesive online presence. My attention to detail in crafting style guides reflects my commitment to delivering design solutions that resonate with my clients’ audiences.
